The Australia was a Carrier of Company Fleet.
Operational history[]
The Australia was one of the fifty Carriers of Company Fleet, build by Earth Company to retake the independent systems. It survived at most of the Company War, until 2533, when only ten survived, including it. Then it was under the command of Tom Edger. His place as de facto second in command of Conrad Mazian make the Australia the vice admiral ship of the Fleet.
It participated at the meeting at Point Omicron, in preparation to the Raid on Viking, later retreating, under Mazian's Orders, toward Pell Station. If fought at the Battle of Pell, where attempted, without success, to prevent the defection of the Carrier Norway, before being forced to escape toward Earth.
Destruction[]
In 2534, the Australia was sent to raid the Venture Station, probably to resupply, and also to capture a little merchant ship, the Lucy, with a military cargo. They successfully took the station and ship, but the cargo, sent from Norway, was only junk, and the ship was a bait: soon later, the Norway itself arrived on system, and along Union's Carrier Finity's End, attacked the Australia after it evacuated the station and destroyed it.
The Australia's loss was the last known of a Mazianni ship, and signaled the end of the hostilities, as the last four Carriers ceased military operations.
